Welcome to That’s Kraken Hockey!

Hi, I’m Jason.

My hockey journey started in 1979, born into a family of die-hard Montreal Canadiens fans in Atlantic Canada. My earliest memories are etched in the late ’80s and early ’90s—watching the Habs battle Lanny McDonald’s Flames in 1989 and the legendary brawls of the Montreal-Boston rivalry. For decades, I followed the NHL religiously, but eventually, I found myself looking for a fresh start.

I needed a change of pace from the noise and traditional culture of my old franchise. As fate would have it, Montreal’s 2021 Cup run coincided perfectly with the arrival of the Seattle Kraken. I jumped ship, headed for the deep, and I haven’t looked back since.

Why this site? I am currently studying Digital Marketing and E-commerce, and That’s Kraken Hockey began as a hands-on project to apply what I’m learning. While it started in the classroom, my goal is to grow this into a premier resource for Kraken fans everywhere—a place for news, honest opinions, and community discussion.
